The PREFIGURE’s project Coordinator Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) will host ‘Housing/Climate Future Talks’, a series of seminars on the future of housing and climate. The talks will take place from November 2024 until February 2025, featuring speakers from academia, politics and civil society.
Carolin Seiberlich, PhD researcher for PREFIGURE at KIT, moderated the opening panel and will wrap up discussions at the end of the series.
After the first session on ‘Housing retrofits in Spain’ last 7th of November, the upcoming appointments include:
- ‘Urban sustainability transformation – what they are about and what we can learn from them’ | 21.11.2024 (15.30-17 CET).
- ‘The socio-ecological housing question and tenant protest in Berlin’ | 05.12.2024 (16-17.30 CET).
- ‘Airbnb and touristification as drivers of inequality’ | 19.12.2024 (16-17.30 CET).
- Final colloquium | 13.02.2025 (17-19.30 CET).
Being a critical examination of the housing question and the socio-ecological transformation in the Anthropocene, the talks sits perfectly with the rationale of PREFIGURE, a EU-funded project exploring the housing-energy nexus.
