The United Nations designated the first Monday in October each year as World Habitat Day, providing an opportunity to reflect on the state of our habitats and the fundamental right to adequate shelter.

On 6 October 2025, the global observance of World Habitat Day will focus on urban crisis response. The theme will address the multiple crises affecting urban areas, including climate change and conflicts contributing to inequality, and will promote existing tools and approaches to effective crisis response.

To celebrate this occasion, PREFIGURE and its sister and fellow projects HouseInc, ProLight, POWGEN, ReHousIn , Reschool and SUPERSHINE will participate in a joint social media campaign. Each project will ask its consortium to answer the following question: ‘In what ways does your work contribute to the response to the urban housing crisis?

The answers will then be added to social media cards designed for this special occasion and shared on social media.
