The first stop for corner, the new mobile knowledge transfer infrastructure of the Institute for Regional Science (IfR) at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), is indeed Karlsruhe.

In time for KIT Science Week 2025 (14-19 October), corner will be located in Kronenplatz until 15 November 2025.

What can visitors expect in Kronenplatz?

The idea behind corner is ‘Science in the City‘.

The audiovisual installation ‘WE DON’T HAVE CHERRIES‘ uses artistic visuals and sounds to provide emotional access to the central themes of the PREFIGURE research project. There will also be interactive exhibits about housing challenges, living situations, and innovative approaches to fair housing, as well as many opportunities to participate in discussions and share ideas.

‘We don’t have cherries’

How do we respond to challenges such as climate change, the energy transition, and the housing crisis? The installation uses artistic visuals and sounds to provide emotional access to the central themes of PREFIGURE. It provides insights into the research topics and translates the perspectives of the participating researchers into abstract visual and aural forms, creating space for viewers’ own associations.
