IDRA Barcelona Urban Research Institute does research to promote social and ecological justice. We understand research as a networked practice that allows a better understanding of urban reality in order to intervene and transform it. The strategic axes that run through all our activities are: transformative social institutions, fair ecological transition and economic democracy.

Within Prefigure, we are working with two prototypes: Reviu, an online portal of reviews of real homes, and Wikihousing, a self-managed and open source social housing production method. IDRA is leading the mobilization of knowledge exchange for facilitating future upscaling within the Prefigure, and coleading the upscaling of innovation into energy-efficient, inclusive and affordable housing policy actions.
